Gosaikunda Lake Trek for Nepali Trip Profile:
Holy Gosaikunda Lake trek for Nepali offers an opportunity for trekkers and adventurers to follow in Bill Tillman’s wake and rediscover the Himalayan passes, pristine valley, and diverse ethnic- culture he found in 1949. Though easily accessible from Kathmandu it remains a relatively unspoiled and less developed trekking destination in Nepal. However, despite the less-trodden region, Gosaikunda has genuine charm and a serene atmosphere that can't be measured.
This short teahouse trek of pleasant Langtang Gosaikunda trekking through dense forest and traditional ethnic settlements takes you to the holy Gosaikunda Lake and alpine setting where the view of the mountains is genuinely inspiring. Trek to this divine lake is certainly very spiritual. Over the years this Gosaikunda has become one of the sacred pilgrimage sites for Shamans, the traditional witch doctors, as well as many Hindu and Buddhist devotees.
Our Gosaikunda Lake trip starts with a drive to Dunche and a walk to Deurali through the beautiful forest setting of Pine, Oak, Maple, and Rhododendron. Gradually via Shin Gompa or Chandanbari, we enter into the land of the Red Pandas.
Ascending our elevation with a gradual pace we head towards the basic settlement of Laurebina. Laurebina is very popularly known as the "Ultimate View Point". The panoramic mountain vistas this small settlement has to offer are simply magical. It is indeed unimaginable the way the magical view is served before you like a buffet of variation.
Eventually, we hike up to the holy lake of Gosaikunda - one of the most thrilling glacial lakes of mystical significance. After Gosaikunda we head back to Dunche and then finally drive back to Kathmandu.
