Depends on where you are flying from. If you are flying from Kathmandu it's a 35-minute flight to Lukla and if you are flying from Manthali airport it's only an 18/20 minute flight. Once in Lukla, we will spare some time to enjoy the fun of a thrilling landing and take off of the flights from this small airport. Shortly we will head out to Phakding. This 3/4 hour easy walk on the legendary trekking trail through the cultured Sherpa villages with its exceptional beauty and the view of stunning landscape, deep valley, and Dudh Koshi gorge is unique.

Today we will start early for Namche Bazaar, the capital and the Administrative Center of the Khumbu district. Today we descend down to the village of Phunki Tenga 3250 m and ascend 600 m to the settlement of Tyengbuche monastery, one of the most active monasteries in the region. Tyengbuche monastery has always been a place of worship for the natives and the mountain climbers before scaling any peak in the Everest region.

We retrace our steps back to the small settlement of Kyangjuma. Walk to Namche on a fresh route makes anyone cheerful of their accomplishment. Lunch at Namche and head down through the forest of rhododendron and the series of suspension bridges to the village of Monjo.

From Lukla airport, the final destination can be either Kathmandu or Manthali Airport, depending on the peak or off-season. Nonetheless, we will have a Sensational flight back.

As your small aircraft takes to the sky, you're immediately surrounded by a panoramic masterpiece of nature. Towering peaks, including the legendary Mount Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam, seem to reach out and touch the heavens.

However, in the peak season time, all Lukla Flights are Diverted to Manthali Airport at Ramechhap District which is 132 km away from Kathmandu. If we fly to Manthali Airport transportation in a PRIVATE VEHICLE will be provided to transfer you to Kathmandu Hotel. 

This Drive from Manthali to Kathmandu will take 4/5 Hours approximately.

  • PORTERS: The porter to trekker ratio is 1:2 - meaning 1 porter for every 2 trekkers. However, for groups larger than 4 trekkers, an additional porter is provided specifically to assist with hot water supply during the trek.
  • STAFF INSURANCE & ALLOWANCES: Insurance coverage, wages, and allowances for all trek staff are included.

Best Time to Trek:

  • The ideal times for the Tengboche Monastery Trek are pre-monsoon (March to May) and post-monsoon (late September to November) when the weather is clear and stable.

  • Besides the spring and autumn seasons in Nepal, the Tengboche Monastery Trek is feasible even during winter (December till February). However, due to fewer visitors closure of a few lodges, and not too many choices for food can be the circumstances.

    However, we recommend pre-physical training prior to your arrival in Nepal. Further, we recommend everyday undulating walking, running, or cardio carrying a certain amount of weight. Walking up and down the steps is highly recommended if feasible which certainly assists you in your Everest trek.
