Annapurna Base Camp Trek for Nepali Summary:

The aptly named Annapurna Sanctuary also known as Annapurna Base Camp trek is the most intensely scenic trek in Nepal. The Annapurna range is a vast massif with several peaks, which lies between the Kali Gandaki, and Marshyangdi river valley, forming a solid, mountain bastion. Within its span of 40 miles, it encompasses a dozen peaks that are higher than 7000m and numerous others over 6000m.

Leaving Pokhara, the beautiful lake city, we trek to Annapurna base camp as rhododendron forests give way to bamboo groves and gradually vanish into the high desert landscapes. As we walk into the most sanctified valley of Annapurna inhabited by GURUNG people you will be amazed to sense the beautiful Gurung culture and the traditions.

The valley is usually dominated by an awesome view of the soaring Annapurna South and Hiunchuli. We further cruise into the most dramatic forest setting trail from Sinuwa, which in reality is the dwelling place of the diving spirits. Local people have a lot of beliefs in the divine power that still thrives in the region. May this is the reason why from Bamboo onwards we are not allowed to carry any live meat, it's forbidden.

This Annapurna Base Camp Teahouse Trek for Nepali gradually heads towards the alpine away from the tree-line area and gets to Machhapuchare Base Camp situated at the base of the holy Fishtail mountain. Passing through the Machhapuchare base camp we head towards Annapurna base camp, our destination which is the vast natural amphitheater where we are completely surrounded by the mighty peaks.
