Annapurna Base Camp Trek for Nepali Summary:
The Annapurna Base Camp trek also known as the Annapurna Sanctuary Trek is certainly one of the most intensely scenic trek in Nepal. The Annapurna range is a vast massif and it holds dozens of peaks that are higher than 7000m and many peaks over 6000m.
We start our Annapurna Base Camp Trek for Nepali with a scenic drive from Pokhara to Jhinu Danda. Jhinu Danda is a small settlement with cozy blue-roof teahouses but it is very popular for its Natural Hot Spring. After the scenic drive, we will cross one of the longest suspension bridges and walk to Jhinu Danda.
We will most probably have lunch at Jhinu but if in any case we are earlier we will walk the vertical step trail to Chhomrong Village and have lunch there. From the very start, you will enjoy your quest for ABC. Gradually, we will walk into the most sanctified valley of Annapurna inhabited by GURUNG people. It will indeed be very fascinating to witness the beautiful Gurung culture, their rich traditions, and their language.
From the very first day, you will witness that the valley is dominated by an awesome view of the soaring snow-capped mountains. Overnight at Sunuwa with the view of Annapurna South, Hinunchuli, and holy Fishtail is remarkable. Our rail gradually cruises into the most dramatic forest setting trail from Sinuwa, which in reality is the dwelling place of the diving spirits.
Local GURUNG people have a lot of beliefs in the divine power that still thrives in the region. Maybe this is the reason why from Bamboo onwards we are not allowed to carry any live meat, it's forbidden.
This Annapurna Base Camp Teahouse Trek for Nepali gradually heads towards the alpine region away from the tree-line area. At first, we get to the alpine Machapuchare Base Camp situated at the base of the holy Fishtail mountain. Passing through the Machhapuchare Base Camp (MBC) we head towards Annapurna base camp, our destination.
From MBC we will walk the wide Himalayan meadow trail, the valley in between the majestic soaring mountain. Eventually, we will reach ABC, a vast natural amphitheater where we are completely surrounded by the mighty peaks.
The panoramic views from the Annapurna Base Camp include - Annapurna South (7219m), Hiunchuli (6441m), Barah Shikar (7647m - Annapurna Fang), Annapurna I (8091m), Machhapuchhre (6993m), Singu Chuli (Fluted Peak), and Tharpu Peak (Tent peak).
