Besides, it gives you shivers when you think about how John Hunts' group must have made it to the summit in 1953.

However, when you get to Gorak Shep, you will be overwhelmed by the view where you will be surrounded by majestic peaks like Everest, (8,848m) Pumori (7145 m), Lingtren (6697 m), Nuptse (7745 m), Changtse, Khumbutse, etc. The view of the Khumbu Icefall is spectacular. After the Kala Patthar climb we will head back to Gorak Shep and will start descending the same trail until Thugla, from there we will take a different valley trail that will lead us to Phreicha where we will stay overnight or if we can we will further walk down to the village of Pangboche.

Overnight at stunning Pangboche village and hike to Ama Dablam Base camp potentially reducing the rist of altitude sickness.

    Off-the-Beaten-Path Experience:

What makes this diversion so special is the off-the-beaten-path experience. Ama Dablam base camp is very untouched as it doesn't get tourists as much as EBC or any other destination in the Everest region.

Even in the peak trekking and climbing season, Amadablam Base Camp offers a serene atmosphere with fewer trekkers.

Best Season for Ama Dablam Base Camp Trek with EBC.

Spring (March to May) and Autumn (September to November) have always been the best season to trek to the Everest region. However, with Climate Change things are now becoming different. Spring isn't delivering the weather pattern as it used to be 10 years ago. Monsoon extends as far are the early Autumn seasons.

So besides Spring and Autumn season, winter will be great to do this trip. But, great winter comes with some challenges, the wind chill factor can be very strong but can be coped with proper gear.

Monsoon isn't recommended for this trip as you may not have perfect weather with a mountain view. There is a high chance of flight cancellation.

    Photographic Perspectives:

The trek offers rare vantage points for capturing the beauty of the region. These days the base camp of Amadablam is becoming quite popular when it comes to taking stunning images.

Training Grounds for aspirant Trekking Leaders or Mountain Climbers:

These days Amadablam Base Camp has become a training ground for aspirant trekking leaders or climbers. This wide Himalayan meadow is used for navigation, leadership training, and mountaineering techniques.

    Permits:

Sagarmatha National Park Permit and Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Municipality Permit. The cost of these permits is NPR 3000 each per person for all foreign nationals, that will be NPR 6000 total. However, the SAARC nationals will get a 50% discount on the Sagarmatha National Park Permit, which will be NPR 1500 per person but the cost of the municipality permit is the same.
